Taylor Grace's Continued Recovery

She is doing very well today! Taylor Grace continues to eat every 3 hours. They started her off with 5 mL yesterday around 2:00 PM (that's a little less than a 1/4 ounce), fed her 10 mL around 5:00, then 15 mL around 8:00. They have continued feeding her that amount until 5:00 PM tonight, when the volume will increase to 1 ounce. They will keep it there as they continue to observe her feeding habits, but 1 ounce every 3 hours is pretty good.

We were a bit concerned that Taylor Grace was not crying very much. Although she would fuss from time to time, she had never exhibited a nice long wailing session until yesterday afternoon, so that's one less worry. It seems that we are completely finished with tests, scans, X-rays, etc. At this point, the doctors are simply monitoring her blood levels for infection and keeping an eye on her organ recovery. All signs point to her originally scheduled discharge of next Thursday afternoon (the NICU doctors prescribed antibiotic treatments for a minimum of 10 days from delivery).

Krissy and I continue to thank God for Taylor Grace's miraculous recovery. We already knew that we had been blessed with a beautiful, healthy baby girl, our prayers were only that His will would be demonstrated to us sooner. We thank you all so very much for your prayers, love and kindness as well, and hope that they will continue. We know that we owe many people phone calls and emails, and we hope to catch up on individual correspondence this weekend. In the meantime, please continue to check this site for updates. Thank you so much!

Love,

Rusty & Krissy
